Professional photographers capture thousands of images every year, and every single one has a unique, sequential number as part of its file name. Its very important you don’t change these file numbers and file names. Or, if you do decide to change the filename, at least keep a copy of the original.
All of the digital images I supply to you will have file names like this: DJP_0000.jpg
Imagine the scenario:
- You’ve lost your USB FlashDrive or CD-R
- You call me and ask for a duplicates of your favourite images
- I ask you to give me the unique image numbers
- But you can’t because you’ve changed the file names.
It takes only a few minutes to find images, if I have the original number, but it can take hours if I don’t.
